Michael Jackson's Death

A great person has left us recently, namely the king of pop(Micheal Jackson). He died at the age of 50 at the UCLA Medical Center after being stricken at his rented home in Holmby Hills. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his home for nearly three-quarters of an hour, then rushed him to the hospital, where doctors continued to work on him but was unable to save him. His 50-concert comeback bid in London next month was intended to wash away the taint of freakish scandals and restore him to glory as the "King of Pop". But the curtain will never rise. In an instant Thursday, the man who moonwalked above the music world was gone, leaving a shot at redemption unfulfilled and fans and pop stars alike in anguish and shock.

H1N1

Can you believe how fast H1N1 is spreading in Singapore?

It is just a matter of time before Singapore reports it's first H1N1 death.

Many students must be eagerly waiting for the MOH to change the colour code to red, which means an extension of school holidays.

However, the cons of that is that we will be locked up in our homes and will still have work to do via http://www.lead.com/!!!

So, before you hope that the colour code is raised to red, think again!!!

Holidays

Even though i did not go any where recently, something exhilarating happened recently-My ham-fisted sister dettached the shower head from the rubber tube by 'accident'. Or so she claimed. I mean, who could believe her tall tales-what are the odds of the shower falling apart with no apparent reason? One million to one? No, make that a billion to none. She got a trashing for demolishing the shower and has to pay for it. Ah well. I guess that's life.

Holidays

If my sister could turn the clock backwards, I am sure she would have thought  twice about repeating to my father the lenghty and 'interesting' recommendation provided by my mother's friend, (NO THANKS TO HER) we decided to pay the japanese restaurant, NihonMura@TheCathay a visit.

However, the service was terrible, the food was expensive and the waiters were unhelpful. Two sushi for $0.99? And it gets worse. We chalked up a bill of $108.20!!!

Patrick's dog is sick(YAY!)

Thursday, June 11, 2009

Patrick's dog is sick!

Patrick's dog, Ozzy, from my previous post, has caught red rashes on his body! The red rash is mostly on his neck and it is super red. Patrick's father went to many doctors but none of them worked. Even after he took the things many people has prescribed him, Ozzy was still very sick. Until, Patrick's father brought Ozzy to Ozzy's main barbour, he told Patrick's father to use special shampoo and oils and some very expensive medicine. It was hard to believe that all those actually cured Ozzy by a lot and now he looks so much better than before but still with some rashes. Patrick hopes he gets completely cured soon.

Holidays

I entered the well patronised restaurant, Sun With Moon, only to be rejected. Apparentely, there were no avalabile seats. After they reluctantly accepted our number, we decided to explore the mall to pass the time. Lady Luck was indeed shining on us that day. Five mintues had barely passed when our aunt's mobile phone started ringing. Being an exotic eater, I have always enjoyed eating exotic food. After ordering our food, we impatiently waited for the 'calvery' to arrive. Tucking in, I devoured the food placed before me. To top it off, we had a scoop of green tea ice-cream each.

Holidays

Recently, I attended a memory workshop. It all began when my mother attended the workshop, Kee Learning because of a seiminar. Impressed by the workshop, she signed us up for a half-day memory improvment course. The tactics taught by him have proven to be really useful in the past few days. I now have little trouble or no trouble remembering things.

Holidays

Breaking into a mad dash, I ran like the wind towards the acclaimed Japanese restuarant, 'Kuishin-bo'. Having visited it on quite a few occassions, I almost knew the place inside-out. Having already made our reservation by phone, there was no need to join the sweaty, snake-like queue outside the restaurant. And boy, was I glad that there was no need for us to join the queue. The two- hour, eat all you can buffet had barely started when my my stomach started to ache. However, I resisted the urge to relieve my bowels-there was only a tap there. As  the I contentedly licked my lips, I glanced down at the remains of my near two hour dinner , taking my time to leave. I strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone, young and old.

Holidays

As I stepped into the hospital, I felt the atmosphere change almost immediately. While the corridor outside was as noisy as a wet market, the crowded hospital was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. A wave of dread washed over me. When I was called in, I was a bunch of entangled nerves. I braced myself for the blood test. Thankfully, it took less then a second.

Holidays

Upon hopping onboard the bus, I started bombarding my father with questions. He shrugged off all my questions and told me to 'relax'. Slumping down in my seat, I pictured the Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibition. Spotting the entrance of the Science Centre, I jumped out of my seat and raced out of the bus. Many suprises awaited me. After purchasing our tickets, I ambled towards the Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibition. I struggled to read the notes penned down by the famous 'Master of all trades'. Who would have thought that what many people belived to be the actual painting of Mona Lisa was actually covered by 25 layers of paint, a result of the many attempts made to restore his painting. I was equally caught off guard when I was told the amount of damage done to the actual painting. It had snapped into half ,chipped, with grafetti and a mysterious 'H' inscribed on the back of the painting. In brief, Leonardo was such a 'perfectionist' that nothing was ever completed in his eyes. Our trip home was uneventful.

Holidays

After alighting from the bus, I headed towards GV@Vivocity for lunch at a famed Japanese restuarant. The scrumptious food cooked by the chefs appealed to my taste buds.I downed the slippery udon within seconds. After slurping the remaining strands of noddle, I washed it down with soda. After a long and satisfying burp, I made a hasty departure after the bill was settled-I could hardly wait to watch MONSTERS VS ALIENS. One of the many movies that critics were talking about, it focuses on the life of a country girl turned giant after getting hit by a 'Metoerite' aka alien probe. It is a heartwarming and humorous movie. I strongly recommend this movie to everyone.
